Juvenile Mountain Gorilla
Portrait of a juvenile eating. Kwitonda Group. This is a group of 22 individuals with three Silver Backs. The top Silver Back leads the family through the jungle and has mating rights with all the females, Kinigi, Volcanoes National Park, also known as Virunga National Park, Rwanda, East Africa. The gorillas are still highly endangered, although the populations are on the increase. They only live in this one region which straddles the borders of Rwanda, Uganda and the Congo, an area which has seen more than its fair share of war, genocide and poaching in recent times.
