Cleaning Up After a Feed
Polar bear, Ursus maritimus, which means “sea bear”. Washing his feet after an unexpected seal find and feed which was shared between a number of large male polar bears. Polar Bears don't usually share food, but this was an unusual circumstance where bears waiting for the feeding season found a stray seal. The large bears took control and only after they had eaten were the younger bears allowed near to lick up the blood. Polar Bears are endangered due to global warming. It is estimated that the Churchill population will be unviable in 30 years, and it is the largest single Polar bear population in the world.
